About Bloomfolio
Built to end the fear of doing it wrong.
Homeschooling is a joyful, demanding thing. The paperwork around it should not be. Bloomfolio exists so that the compliance side of a family's year takes minutes, stays accurate, and never keeps a parent up at night.
Why we built it
Every homeschooling parent we spoke to described the same evening: a stack of state forms, a folder of half-finished logs, and the nagging worry that a deadline had already passed. The learning was going beautifully. The record of it was a source of dread.
So we started with the rules. Not summaries of the rules — the rules themselves, state by state, modelled carefully enough that software can reason about them and a parent can trust the result. Then we built the calmest possible way to log a day, and let the reports assemble themselves from what was already there.
Sage came last, and changed everything. A guide who answers from the rulebook, cites the section, and asks before acting turned a record-keeping tool into a companion. Today Bloomfolio supports families in 32 states, with more on the way.
Four rules we hold ourselves to
- 01
Accuracy is the product
A wrong deadline is not a bug, it is a broken promise to a family. Every state's rules are modelled from the statute and the department's guidance, tested against the source, and reviewed when the law changes.
- 02
Calm authority
The app should lower a parent's heart rate, not raise it. No red alarms for ordinary states, no countdown clocks, no guilt. Progress and gentle nudges, always in plain language.
- 03
Simple by default, powerful on demand
Logging a day takes under thirty seconds. The depth is there when you want it — per-child goals, custom subjects, multi-year records — and out of the way when you don't.
- 04
Your family's data is yours
Children never use the app; parents do. Records are encrypted at rest, never sold, never used for advertising, and exportable or deletable with one click.
